For over five years we have been studying the condom market to produce the ideal Natural Intimacy condom for our customers.
One important consideration for the ideal condom was the thickness.
When you look around there are some thick condoms that resemble the fingers on rubber gloves. They’re designed to be pretty much bulletproof—well, rip-proof at least. These very thick condoms are optimal for anal sex where there’s more friction than vaginal penetration, increasing the risk of rips and tears.
We decided to go in the opposite direction, to a thinner condom, usually named ultralight or sensitive. At just 0.055 microns thick, the thinner sheath doesn’t ‘kill the feeling’ as much as thicker condoms, yet they are still as strong and safe.
The thinner skin gives a much more natural feeling with fewer restrictions on body heat, feelings, and sensation.
For the sizing of the condoms, we looked at the market and consulted industry production and sales figures. We decided to launch with a ‘standard’ size condom, 52mm in width and a length of 180mm. Varying across brands, this size makes up between 60 and 80% of all condoms out there.
A correct fitting condom is essential for comfort, safe use, and contraceptive efficiency. We recognise that this single size is not the correct fit for all of our customers. Knowing that we have customers of all sizes we have started to plan various condom sizes.
